Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 16 March 2026
⚠️ Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension of your numbers and account without refund, and may be reported to relevant authorities.

Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs how Cliqtel numbers and services may be used. It exists to protect our customers, carriers, and the public from harmful or illegal use of telecommunications services.

Prohibited Uses

You must not use Cliqtel numbers or services for:

  • Spam and unsolicited communications — robocalling, bulk SMS, or any unsolicited marketing that violates GDPR, TCPA, PECR, or applicable law
  • Fraud and deception — impersonation, spoofing caller ID to deceive recipients, scam operations
  • Illegal activity — any activity that violates local, national, or international law
  • Harassment — threatening, abusive, or harassing calls or messages
  • Distribution of illegal content — CSAM, terrorist content, or other illegal material
  • Malware distribution — using numbers to deliver malicious software or phishing links
  • Traffic pumping — artificially inflating call traffic to generate revenue
  • Reselling without agreement — reselling Cliqtel services without an active reseller agreement
  • Circumventing regulations — using numbers to evade telecommunications regulations in any jurisdiction

Telecommunications Compliance

You are responsible for ensuring your use of numbers complies with all applicable telecommunications regulations in the countries where numbers are used. This includes but is not limited to:

  • UK: Ofcom regulations and PECR
  • EU: GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and national telecom regulations
  • US: FCC regulations, TCPA, and state laws
  • Country-specific number registration requirements (some countries require end-user registration)

Enforcement

We monitor for AUP violations through automated systems and carrier reports. Upon confirmed violation:

  • Numbers may be suspended immediately without notice
  • Account may be terminated without refund
  • Serious violations will be reported to law enforcement and relevant regulators
  • We cooperate fully with lawful law enforcement requests

Reporting Abuse

If you receive unwanted calls or messages from a Cliqtel number, please report it to abuse@cliqtel.com with the number, date, time, and nature of the contact. We investigate all reports within 24 hours.
